You no longer have to offer paper reciepts
The Swedish Tax Agency is abolishing the requirement for entrepreneurs to always offer customers a paper receipt.
Entrepreneurs can now decide how you want to offer your customer a receipt – on paper, digitally or whether you want to give your customer the option to choose between both options. This is because the Swedish Tax Agency has made a new interpretation of the Tax Procedure Act.
You must continue to offer a receipt to the customer for every sale. The new thing is that you are considered to be complying with the law regardless of whether you offer the customer the receipt on paper or electronically.
It does not matter if the customer does not want or cannot receive an electronic receipt, you still meet the requirements of the law.
The Swedish Tax Agency's new interpretation applies with immediate effect.
