Combat sports events

Permit for competitions, training matches and exhibition matches in combat sports.

How to apply

Send your application to the Örebro County Administrative Board.

Permit

Anyone who wants to arrange combat sports matches must apply for a permit from the Combat Sports Delegation at the County Administrative Board of Örebro. Combat sports in the legal sense means a sport that permits the participants to intentionally strike the opponent's head with blows, kicks or other force.

There are two different kinds of permits that can be applied for:

1. Permit to arrange one or several combat sports matches

The application is to be sent in no later than two months before the first match. There is an application fee, which is to be paid when the application is submitted.

This Permit is for example when the matches are part of a tour running over several days. A permit for several matches assumes that the same competition rules and safety regulations apply for all the combat sports matches.

2. Permit to arrange matches for a specified time period or until further notice

The application is to be sent in no later than three months before the first match. There is an application fee, which is to be paid when the application is submitted.

For this permits can the organisations that are responsible for the combat sports, usually a combat sports association, apply for general permit for a certain period of time or until further notice. The permit is then not tied to arranging specific martial arts matches. This kind of permit can then cover organisers who are affiliated with the organisation, if the organiser is a member of the organisation and is bound by the rules that the organisation has adopted.

Requirements
Permit to hold combat sports events is only granted on the condition that the combat sports competition rules and safety regulations provide adequate safety for the participants.

Permit issuer and supervision

You apply for a permit from the Örebro County Administrative Board. The Combat Sports Delegation then decides whether to grant the permit or not. The county administrative board is the supervisory authority.
