About the permit

The possession of narcotics is limited to medical, scientific, or socially beneficial purposes of particular importance. With only a few exceptions, anyone who wants to import, export, transit, manufacture, trade in or possess narcotics needs a permit from the Swedish Medical Products Agency. In addition, a permit for each individual instance of import or export is required.

Requirements
The application must state which narcotics are involved and an estimate of the amount that will be imported or exported in the coming 12 months. It must also include a description of what the narcotics will be used for and the procedures to be applied and measures to be taken by the applicant to prevent theft and diversion of the narcotics. An application fee will be charged.
