Slaughter of farmed game

About permission

Food business operators may, under certain conditions, slaughter farmed ratite birds and reindeer, farmed deer and wild boar at the place of their origin. Permission for slaughter at such a place is granted by the Swedish Food Agency subsequent to an application.

Decisions are communicated within one week of receipt of a complete application. If motivated by the complex nature of the matter, the Swedish Food Agency may extend this deadline.

Permission issuer and supervision

The Swedish Food Agency grants permission and is the supervisory authority.
