Important dates for sole trader's tax returns in 2025
We have listed important dates and links for those of you who are going to file an income tax return for a sole proprietorship. You can also watch a short film that describes how preliminary tax, income tax return and final tax statement are related.
Dates to keep track of
3–7 March
You will receive your income tax return in your digital mailbox.
7 March
The tax return is available as a PDF on My Pages on the Swedish Tax Agency's website. This also applies to those who do not have a digital mailbox.
17 March–15 April
The paper tax return will be sent to your home. If you do not have a digital mailbox, you will receive your paper tax return by post.
18 March
The digital tax return opens. As an e-identification holder, you can log in to the Income Tax Return e-service "Inkomstdeklaration 1", or to the Swedish Tax Agency app.
2 May
Last day to file your tax return. Exception is if you, or your accounting firm, have a delay in filing the tax return.
12 May
If you report VAT once a year, this is the last day to submit your VAT return.
2 June
Last day to file the tax return for those who have delayed filing.
2–6 June
Tax refund for those who filed their tax return by May 2nd.
16 June
Last day to file if you have a delay in submitting your tax return through your accounting firm.
12 September
The back tax must be paid. (The last day to pay back tax depends on when you receive your final tax notice, which is 90 days after the final tax notice. September 12 or November 12 for 2025, March 12 for 2026 are the applicable dates).
