Dropshipping
Dropshipping is an e-commerce business model where you market and sell products in an online store without having your own inventory. Instead, you have an agreement with a supplier who ships the goods directly to the customer.
How does dropshipping work?
When a customer orders something in your online store, you send the order to a supplier with whom you have an agreement. The supplier can be located anywhere in the world, in Sweden or abroad. The supplier packs the order in their warehouse and sends it directly to the customer.
It is important to be transparent to the customer that you are using dropshipping. Depending on where the supplier is located, it can, for example, affect the delivery time and the time it takes to receive a new item in the event of a complaint or exchange. It is also important to know that you, as the business owner, are responsible for contact with the customer.
The rules for tax and VAT that apply to dropshipping vary depending on the value of the goods and where your customers and suppliers are located.

Product safety and labeling
It is also worth pointing out that as a seller you are always responsible for the products you sell. If your product is not covered by specific rules, the general rules on product safety apply. You must also follow rules on product liability and report if you have sold dangerous products.
If you import or distribute imported goods to the EU, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein, you are responsible for ensuring that the products meet the EU's requirements for product safety and CE marking.
