About bankruptcy
The district court can decide on bankruptcy when a company cannot pay its debts. The person who is declared bankrupt is called the debtor and is no longer allowed to decide on the company's assets. The company's assets become part of the bankruptcy estate, which the bankruptcy trustee takes over. The bankruptcy trustee is an experienced lawyer with special experience in handling bankruptcies. The bankruptcy trustee is the one who ensures that the assets of the bankrupt company are converted into money that is then distributed to the creditors when the bankruptcy is concluded.
More information about what applies in the event of bankruptcy can be found at the Swedish Courts.
