New service makes it easier to start a business in the food supply chain

For those planning to start a business within the food supply chain, there are many laws, regulations and permits to navigate. A new service is now available on verksamt.se, designed to make it easier for businesses to get things right. The service is currently only available in English.

Restaurant operations, vegetable farming and cheese production are examples of activities associated with considerable regulations. It has often been difficult to keep track of which permits are required and which authority is responsible for issuing them.

There is now a new service available on verksamt.se; "Find Permits for your industry". Through this service, entrepreneurs across the entire food supply chain can search for the permits, notifications and approvals that may be relevant for their particular operations.

The new service makes it both easier and more reassuring for anyone starting a new business. It can also help those already running a business to feel confident that everything is in order, or support those wishing to change their operations or expand their offering.

In "Find Permits for your industry" you can search by industry using free text (e.g. “restaurant”) or by SNI code (e.g. 56110). The result list shows which permits or other procedures you may need, as well as the responsible authority.

The service currently covers all industries within the entire food supply chain, along with several additional sectors within extraction and transport. Together, they account for almost a quarter of all industries in Sweden. The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth will, on behalf of the government, continue developing the service to cover more industries. This work will continue for three years.
