Conduct a driving school

About the permit

To operate a driving school you must have a permit from the Swedish Transport Agency.

The Swedish Transport Agency may grant permits to natural persons or legal entities that, taking into account their financial circumstances and circumstances otherwise, are assessed as having what is required to provide good driver instruction.

Among other things, a driving school must have an approved driving school manager and an approved chief instructor. One or more approved driving instructors may also be employed at the school.

Permit issuer and supervision

Permits for driving schools and approvals for the driving school manager, chief instructor and other instructors are assessed by the Swedish Transport Agency, which is also the supervisory authority.
