What Does the Net-Zero Industry Act entail?
The Net-Zero Industry Act aims, among other things, to secure the EU’s access to a safe and sustainable supply of net-zero technologies. This includes increasing manufacturing capacity for net-zero technologies and their supply chains, i.e. products, components and machinery. The Regulation covers 19 net-zero technologies and also seeks to promote carbon capture and storage.
What is net zero technology and which companies are covered by the regulation?
Contact points
In Sweden, six county administrative boards are appointed as contact points according to the regulation on net zero industry. The contact points shall facilitate and coordinate the permit process for projects covered by the EU regulations.

Permit Processes
For companies covered by the Net-Zero Industry Act, multiple permits, exemptions or notifications are often required. The regulation sets maximum processing times for permits. There is also the possibility of being recognised as a strategic net-zero project, which may result in even shorter processing times and a faster permitting procedure.
Funding Opportunities and Financial Services
There are many organisations, both in Sweden and across the EU, that offer various types of grants, loans and credit to companies working within the Net-Zero Industry. We have compiled a selection of public actors that provide funding opportunities and advisory services.
