Flavouring of schnapps

Information about the notification

If you have a permanent alcohol licence to serve spirits, you have the right to flavour spirits for serving as schnapps in your own restaurant business following notification to the municipality. This applies solely to being able to serve as schnapps what is generally known as aquavit or vodka, which has been flavoured at the restaurant according to your own recipe. Aquavit is a Swedish term for spirits made by distilling potatoes or grain.

Requirements
To be permitted to flavour schnapps, a permanent licence to serve spirits is required. The flavouring activity must be on a small scale, meaning that the schnapps may only be served in your own restaurant.

Notification and supervision

Send your notification to the affected municipality, which is also the supervisory authority.
